To start off FishVille you get a tutorial telling you how to play and feed and sell your fish. And honestly, this is probably the most exciting part of the game.
Basically, it's like another FarmVille, but less exciting (and that's hard to do when you're talking about FarmVille). You have to feed your fish, but that's about it. When your fish grow up, you get to sell them. Selling fish is virtually the only way you can get money in this game. And what do you do when you sell fish and have money? You buy more fish, of course!
Not only do you have to feed your fish every day, you have to feed them all the time. If you don't your fish get sick.
The sick fish is the one in a red circle. As you can see, he has a speech bubble with a medicine container in it. Apparently this means that he is sick. That would be fine and dandy if we could just go buy some medicine. What? You mean we can't just go buy medicine?
No, we can't.
Like many other games on Facebook made by Zynga, you must pay real money to get an in-game currency used to buy premium items. In FishVille's case, this currency is called Sand Dollars. While you can buy regular fish like Gobys with regular old coins, costing no money to you all all, you must pay real life money to get Sand Dollars. So basically, if you can't spare $5 for that pack of medicine, have fun with your dead fish because there's no other way to cure them.
Another annoying thing about FishVille, as you can see is that your neighbors don't get automatically added like they would in Pet Society or Cafe World. So you have to annoy almost all of your Facebook friends saying "Hey neighbor! Come be my friend over in FishVille where you can raise lots of totes awesome fish! YEAH!".
FishVille also has a store, but like I said before, Sand Dollars are needed to buy most of the cool items. Sure you can buy fish like Shy Hamlets with coins, but if you wanted that Caiman than too freaking bad, because have fun spending $18 on that! You can also buy decorations and stuff for your cage, but they don't really do anything and most of the cool ones also cost Sand Dollars.
Overall, I think that FishVille is extremely boring. To level up and get coins, you buy and sell fish. That is the whole purpose of the game. Can you play with them? No. Can you feed them? Yes, but it takes about three seconds. FishVille gets two notifications for being an okay time waster but generally an overall stupid and boring game.
